THE PRINCIPLES OF ALOHA/ALOFA/AROHA/BULA/GUIAYA/
IOKWE/LOLOMA/’OFA LEADERSHIP

  1. We lead with compassion, empathy, sympathy and understanding for our colleagues and the school community (students, parents, staff) and take the time to listen carefully to them.
  2. We view our colleagues in the school community as the most important asset of the organization and value our relationships and the diverse characteristics and cultures of each one. We honor and respect all of them.
  3. We enjoy serving our colleagues in the school community and other organizations (community-based organizations, families, cities, etc.) that rely on our support, and we are motivated by the opportunity to serve them, or servant leadership.
  4. We lead with collaboration and ensure that all in the school organization can express their feelings about the work and give input into creating a master plan of action for the organization. We demonstrate positivity in our outlook on the work, knowing we have the responsibility to educate and serve students.
